Rooted in Wisdom.
Growing a Better Tomorrow.
The Art of Living’s Sri Sri Institute of Agricultural Sciences & Technology Trust (AOL–SSIAST) is working to build a sustainable and self-reliant future through natural farming, farmer empowerment, indigenous seed conservation, ecosystem restoration, and innovative environmental solutions.
Founded on 9th February 2009 under the guidance of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, AOL–SSIAST brings together traditional agricultural wisdom and practical, eco-friendly solutions to create healthier farms, stronger communities, and a thriving planet.

Building a Sustainable Future
Our work connects natural farming, environmental restoration, farmer education, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable resource management to create lasting impact for farmers, communities, and future generations.

Natural Farming
Promoting Zero Budget Natural Farming (ZBNF) using indigenous knowledge, desi cow-based inputs, and locally available resources.
Our approach helps farmers reduce chemical dependency, restore soil health, improve biodiversity, and build more sustainable livelihoods.
5,56,157+ acres transformed into natural farming lands.

Environment & Afforestation
Restoring degraded ecosystems through afforestation, Miyawaki forests, agroforestry, and community-led environmental initiatives.
Our global efforts have contributed to carbon sequestration, biodiversity conservation, improved soil quality, and ecological regeneration.
100 Million trees planted across 36 countries and 26 Indian states.

Farmer Training & Empowerment
We equip farmers with practical knowledge and hands-on skills through capacity-building programs, demonstration farms, natural farming training, and resource optimization.
By enabling farmers to learn, practice, and share knowledge within their communities, we create a scalable model for sustainable agriculture.
3 Million+ farmers trained
2,300+ certified trainers

Indigenous Seed Conservation
Traditional seeds are essential for biodiversity, climate resilience, food security, and farmer self-reliance.
Our seed conservation initiatives help preserve indigenous crop varieties and the agricultural wisdom passed down through generations.
2.5 Lakh+ seed balls created
38.7 Lakh Lakshmi Taru saplings distributed

Liquid Waste Management JalShuddhi
JalShuddhi provides affordable and eco-friendly liquid waste treatment solutions designed to reduce pollution and support cleaner communities.
By enabling wastewater treatment and reuse, the initiative demonstrates how practical environmental technology can contribute to sustainable rural and semi-urban development.
150+ JalShuddhi systems installed
Our Inspiration
Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has touched the lives of millions, uniting people from diverse cultures, faiths, and backgrounds into a global spiritual family that spans over 180 countries. He highlights the critical role of agriculture in sustaining human life, saying:
"Agriculture is the backbone of human existence. For any civilization to prosper, agriculture has to be healthy and sustainable."
For Gurudev, this is more than just a statement — it is a call to action. Through The Art of Living and its initiatives, including AOL–SSIAST, this vision comes alive, driving meaningful change for farmers, rural communities, and the environment.
